One compact menu bar icon shows memory and system load. Click it to see CPU and the other resource metrics you use most.
The fill starts at 12 o'clock and moves counterclockwise. One full turn means 100% memory used. Only memory controls the circle color: yellow at 80%, red at 90%, with macOS memory pressure able to raise it immediately.
The vertical bar shows normalized 1-minute load. It is full and yellow at 100%, red at 200%, and stays full above 100% while color shows severity.
CPU still shows current whole-machine use, but it does not consume a second tiny bar or trigger icon colors by itself. Brief spikes remain visible in the menu.
Core metrics sample every 5 seconds on a background utility queue with 1 second of leeway. The slower disk check runs at most once per 60 seconds. While the menu is closed, values are cached and the icon redraws only when a 5% step or alert state changes.
